How it works

From finished clip to submitted, in four steps

Export it into the drop folder on your Mac. Clips made with AI get a folder of their own.

Check & upload

Checked, then uploaded

Length (5–60 seconds), file size and resolution are checked against each site’s rules, then the clip goes up through each site’s own bulk-upload server.

Describe

Claude writes the metadata

Claude looks at frames from the clip and writes a title, a description, 25–49 keywords and categories for each site.

Submit

Applied, submitted, filed

The metadata goes in through each site’s own CSV feature, the clip is submitted for review, and the file moves to Published.

Anything with a problem goes to Needs Attention, with a note saying why

A dashboard on your Mac

Drop clips straight onto the page and see where every one of them is, why anything is held, and whether your logins still work — with buttons to check now, pause the checks or open the site portals. It runs on your own machine and nowhere else.

One drop, three sites

Adobe Stock, Shutterstock and Pond5 each get their own upload from a single drop, so you only handle the file once.

Official upload servers

Every upload goes through the site’s own bulk-upload server: SFTP for Adobe Stock, FTPS for Shutterstock and FTP for Pond5.

Keywords from the footage

Claude looks at frames from your clip and writes the title, description, 25–49 keywords and categories for each site.

Applied by CSV

Metadata goes in through each site’s own CSV metadata feature, so nothing is copied and pasted into web forms.

Checked before upload

Each clip is measured against every site’s rules: length of 5 to 60 seconds, file size and resolution.

Submitted and filed

Clips are submitted for review, and each file moves to your Published folder once every site has it.

  • Password: generated in the SFTP box under Uploaded Files › Upload.
  • AI-made clips: accepted here only, and flagged as AI.
  • Good to know: your account needs Adobe’s SFTP option.

Shutterstock

FTPS
  • Shows up: uploads can take up to 72 hours to appear.
  • Password: your normal account password.
  • AI-made clips: banned, so they are never sent here.
  • Good to know: uploads that are not submitted within 21 days are deleted.

Pond5

FTP
  • Shows up: new files are processed for up to several hours before they can be tagged.
  • Password: a separate FTP password, set in your account.
  • AI-made clips: banned, so they are never sent here.
  • Good to know: the FTP password must be different from your login password.

Safety tools

Guardrails, built in

Duplicate check

The same file is never uploaded twice, no matter how often it lands in the folder.

AI clips go to Adobe only

Clips made with AI are sent to Adobe Stock and flagged as AI. Shutterstock and Pond5 ban AI content, so they never receive them.

People and logos held back

Clips showing recognizable people or logos are held back for releases instead of being submitted.

Exclusivity guard

A never-upload list for clips you already sell exclusively elsewhere, for example through a distributor, where uploading them again would count as duplicates.

Needs Attention folder

Anything with a problem goes to a Needs Attention folder with a plain-English note saying why, so nothing disappears quietly.

Your passwords stay in your Keychain

They are stored only in your Mac’s Keychain. You type them into a small Terminal window yourself, and nothing is sent anywhere except the uploads to your own accounts.

Getting started

Set up in about 15 minutes

Unzip it into Claude

Unzip the .skill file into your Claude skills folder, ~/.claude/skills. The guide has the one Terminal line that does it.

Ask Claude to set it up

Open Claude Code in the Claude desktop app and say Set up Stock Footage Autopilot. If Python 3 or ffmpeg is missing, it installs them with your OK.

Save your passwords

Type each site’s password into the small Terminal window that opens. They are stored only in your Mac’s Keychain.

Drop in a finished clip

Export a clip into the drop folder. AI-made clips go in their own folder, for Adobe Stock only.

Check the folders

Clips move to Published once every site has them. Anything that needs you waits in Needs Attention.

Common questions

Which stock sites does it work with?
Adobe Stock, Shutterstock and Pond5. It uploads through each site’s own official bulk-upload server: SFTP for Adobe Stock, FTPS for Shutterstock and FTP for Pond5. You need a contributor account on each site you use, and Adobe’s SFTP option must be available on your account.
Do I still have to write titles and keywords?
No. Claude looks at frames from each clip and writes a title, a description, 25 to 49 keywords and categories for each site. They are applied through each site’s own CSV metadata feature, and the clip is submitted for review.
Do I need to be technical?
No. Setup takes about 15 minutes: you unzip the skill into your Claude skills folder, ask Claude to set it up, and type your site passwords into a small Terminal window. If Python 3 or ffmpeg is missing, setup installs them with your OK.
Where are my passwords kept?

Can I use it for AI-made clips?
Yes, for Adobe Stock. AI-made clips have their own drop folder, and they go to Adobe only, flagged as AI. Shutterstock and Pond5 ban AI content, so those clips are never sent there.
I sell some clips exclusively through a distributor. Is that a problem?
Put those clips on the never-upload list. The exclusivity guard keeps them from being uploaded from your own accounts, where they would otherwise count as duplicates.
Why has my clip not appeared on every site yet?
Each site works at its own pace. Adobe shows uploads within minutes. Pond5 processes new files for up to several hours before they can be tagged. Shutterstock uploads can take up to 72 hours to appear, and Shutterstock deletes uploads that are not submitted within 21 days. Once every site has the clip, the file moves to your Published folder.
Is there a monthly fee?
No. Stock Footage Autopilot is a one-time purchase of $49. It runs on your own Mac and uploads to your own contributor accounts.
